This paper focuses on the evaluation of regional climate model simulation for Turkey for the 21st century. A regional climate model, ICTP-RegCM3, with 20 km horizontal resolution, is used to downscale the reference and future climate scenario (IPCC-A2) simulations. Characteristics of droughts as well as the crop growth and yields of first- and seco...

This paper discusses western European cold spells (where temperature falls below the 10\\% quantile of the winter temperature distribution) in current and future climate. It is demonstrated that many of the projected future changes in cold-spell statistics (duration, return period, intensity) can be explained by changes in the mean (increase) and v...

The spatial correlation in a reverberation chamber as a function of either the wavelength or the displacement is discussed. It is shown that the results from simulations are consistent with theory when the wavelength is changed. However, when the receiver is moved in the reverberation chamber, the spatial correlation differs from theory.

Using the method of molecular dynamics simulations, the dynamics of structure rearrangement in the course of relaxation in a three-dimensional aluminum is investigated via introduction of one-dimensional chains containing equal number of vacancies and interstitial atoms and located in close-packed positions along the directions. This model represe...

In the lee of major mountain chains worldwide, diurnal physics of organized propagating convection project onto seasonal and climate time scales of the hydrologic cycle, but this phenomenon is not represented in conventional global climate models (GCMs). Analysis of an experimental version of the superparameterized (SP) Community Atmosphere Model (...
