Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and their major source, endometrial stromal cells (ESCs), play important roles in menstruation. However, other mechanisms in endometrial shedding may be unexplored. This study focused on four proteins: S100A8 and S100A9 (alarmins) are binding partners and induce MMPs, MMP-3 cycle-dependently plays a key role in the ...

Standard neuropathologic analysis of Alzheimer's brain relies on traditional fluorescence microscopy, which suffers from limited spatial resolution due to light diffraction. As a result, it fails to reveal intricate details of amyloid plaques. While electron microscopy (EM) offers higher resolution, its extensive sample preparation, involving fixat...

A possible relation between Human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) and colorectal cancer (CRC) has been widely explored with an unclear role yet speculated. The study aimed at detecting HCMV UL55 gene, immediate early and early (IE/E) proteins in colorectal tumor tissues and adjacent non neoplastic tissues (ANNT). Also, it aimed to correlate HCMV presence wi...

Transitional carcinoma (TC) is the most common neoplasm of the bladder (80%). The immune checkpoint (IC) Human leukocyte antigen G (HLA-G) expression has been demonstrated within numerous types of cancer and correlates with the degree of malignancy. This study aims for HLA-G expression in the bladder TC in a public hospital in Argentina linking its...

The evolutionary-conserved Wnt/β-CATENIN (WBC) pathway has been implicated in the pathogenesis of different solid malignant tumors. We evaluated the prognostic relevance of β-CATENIN, a pivotal mediator of WBC activation, in patients with human papillomavirus (HPV)-positive head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). We analyzed if patients with...

To identify histological types of Meningiomas', immunohistochemically markers are used. We present Phosphohistone-H3 (PHH-3) staining for the first time. The patient's case notes were retrospectively reviewed. PHH-3 staining revealed sparse mitotically active cells. PHH-3 staining can be used to grade sclerosing meningioma.

Retinoic acid inducible protein 3 (RAI3) has been suggested as prognostic biomarker in several cancer types. The present study aimed to examine the role of RAI3 expression in non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLCs). RAI3 protein expression was evaluated by immunohistochemistry in tissue microarray (TMA) sections from a retrospective cohort of more tha...

Pediatric-type follicular lymphoma (PTFL) is a rare pediatric-type indolent B-cell lymphoma that clinicopathologically differs from adult lymphoma. Accurate diagnosis of PTFL, which is often challenging, is essential to avoid missed diagnosis, misdiagnosis, and overtreatment. To improve our understanding of PTFL, clinicopathological features, diffe...
