Cells bearing two cilia are found in the mid-gut of the Phyllopod Leptestheria dahalacensis. These cells seem to be sensory cells. They may be in contact with the muscle cells of the mid-gut.
The inhibitors of DNA synthesis change the differentiation of abdominal segments of the horseshoe crab and increase the number of segments in 90%-100% of the surviving embryos.
