From the diversity of phytophagous stink bugs found in rice fields in Itapecuru-Mirim, Maranhão, we have the first record of Edessa meditabunda in the crop, and the second record in Brazil of Paratibraca dubia. Additionally, Tibraca limbativentris, Oebalus poecilus, and Oebalus ypsilongriseus were observed.

This study aimed to analyze the influence of climatic and geographic variables on the flowering process of flood-irrigated rice in the Midwest and North regions of Brazil. Agronomic data from the breeding program were related to the following variables: air temperature, relative humidity, global solar radiation, rainfall, degree days, latitude, lon...

The upland rice production is primarily concentrated in a vast area of central Brazil. Given the region’s environmental variability, the performance of rice cultivars can differ significantly. This study aimed to identify the key climate factors influencing the upland rice yield in the central region of Brazil, encompassing four states: Goiás, Mato...

Multifunctional microorganisms can significantly affect root and shoot development of upland rice seedling that could provide an increase in the crop grain yield. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of single and combined microorganism on the root and shoot development of upland rice seedlings. The experiment was arranged in a c...

Combining cover crops with multifunctional microorganisms provides significant increments in the grain productivity of soybean and upland rice crops. However, there are still few studies that aimed to evaluate the effect of this combination on the productivity of agricultural systems. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of the m...

Rice production in Brazil incurs high costs due to the significant use of agrochemicals. Some plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) can be used as alternative to fertilizers and phytosanitary products. Thus, the objective of this study was to characterize endophytic bacteria isolated from roots of rice plants. The isolates were characterized ...

This study aimed to assess the economic viability of biological nitrogen fixation in flood rice cultivation in subtropical lowlands. A field experiment of seven treatments was carried out during the cropping seasons 2015/16, 2017/18, 2018/19 and 2019/20 at the Lowland Experimental Station of Embrapa, in Pelotas, RS, Brazil. The evaluated treatments...

Water deficit significantly affects global crop growth and productivity, particularly in water-limited environments, such as upland rice cultivation, reducing grain yield. Plants activate various defense mechanisms during water deficit, involving numerous genes and complex metabolic pathways. Exploring homologous genes that are linked to enhanced d...
