A T-x diagram is designed for the Yb2S3-In2S3 system using physicochemical methods. A complex chemical reaction occurs in the system to yield ternary compounds Yb3InS6 (S1), YbInS3 (S2), Yb3In5S12 (S3), and YbIn3S6 (S4). In2S3-based limited solid solutions are found. Phases S1, S3, and S4 are formed by peritectic reactions at 1260, 1200, and 1100 K...

We study how VO2+ ions affect the composition and formation kinetics of polyvanadate precipitates in solutions with 1 ≤ pH ≤ 3 at 80–90°C. The compounds have the general formula Na2.1−xHxVy4+V12−y5+O31−δ. nH2O (0 ≤ x ≤ 1.1, 0.2 ≤ y ≤ 2.3, 0.1 ≤ δ ≤ 1.4). The maximal vanadium(IV) concentration in the precipitates y = 2.2 and 2.3) is achieved for the...

Phase equilibria in the LiF-LiCl-Li2SO4-Li2MoO4 quaternary system have been investigated by differential thermal analysis. The eutectic composition (in mol %) has been determined as LiF, 16.2; LiCl, 51.5; Li2SO4, 16.2; and Li2MoO4, 16.2. The melting point of the eutectic is 402°C, and the enthalpy of melting is 291 J/g.

Mixed-ligand binuclear and mononuclear europium carboxylate complexes with nitrogen-and phosphorus-containing neutral ligands have been studied by luminescence and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The coordination of neutral ligands through the nitrogen donor atom leads to an increase in electron density at the Eu3+ atom. In groups of carboxylates...

The solubilities of hydrogen sulfide expressed in mole fractions may be related, through multiparameter equations, to parameters that account for the specific and nonspecific solvation ability of the solvent and for the cohesion energy. The key factors are the self-association of the solvent, which reduces the solubility, and the complexing ability...

Based on the method considering spin and spatial symmetry, numerical calculations of the spin-level spectra have been performed for n-nuclear cyclic clusters with Si = 3/2 (n ≤ 11) and Si = 2 (n ≤ 10). The theoretical curves of the magnetic susceptibility, the magnetic contribution to the heat capacity, the internal energy, and the entropy as a fun...
