MC and heat transfer simulations indicate that it is possible to noninvasively thermally coagulate the human vas deferens without adverse effects (e.g., scrotal skin burns), if an OCA is applied to the skin prior to the procedure.

The application of LLLT to autologous BM of rats post-MI offers a novel approach to induce BM-derived MSCs, which are consequently recruited from the circulation to the infarcted heart and markedly attenuate the scarring process post-MI.

We assume high pH (rather than low pH as was hypothesized) disaggregates the conjugates, so the higher pH was more effective than the lower pH against E. coli. But for Gram-positive bacteria, low pH was more effective possibly due to more overall positive charge on the conjugate.

To evaluate the use of a 980-nm diode laser for magnetic resonance-guided laser interstitial thermal therapy (MR-guided LITT) ablations in liver tissue in an in vivo porcine model. MR-guided guided LITT was performed on nine juvenile pigs placed under general anesthesia. Target ablation sites were selected in the left and right lobes of the liver. ...

For 1,319 nm laser radiation, the ocular axial length has great, while the retinal pigmentation has only slight influence on retinal damage threshold. The relative lower direct transmittance of human eye media makes the retina more resistant to laser lesion, which should be considered when deriving human maximum permissible exposure (MPE).
