Abstract

•Auditory evoked potentials (AEPs) recorded to 500 Hz pips below and above vestibular evoked myogenic potential (VEMP) threshold.•Systematic changes observed in morphology and intensity dependence of amplitude of AEPs in passing through the VEMP threshold.•Source analysis indicates recruitment of cingulate vestibular cortex above VEMP threshold.
