Abstract

•Residual inhibition (RI) was measured using bone-conducted ultrasound (BCU).•RI was induced by 30-kHz BCU in 90.5% of subjects (n = 19/21).•RI duration induced by BCU was significantly longer than those by 4-kHz sounds.•RI duration induced by BCU was not significantly different from that by white noise.
