Abstract

Specific environmental release categories (SpERCs) have been developed to support the environmental risk assessment of coformulants used in plant protection products under the European Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) regulation. The SpERCs were developed for 2 scenarios: spraying of plant protection products and direct application of granular products or treated seeds to soil. Use of these SpERCs allows the coformulant emissions from plant protection products to be fully accounted for in the regional‐scale exposure assessment, along with all other sources of emissions.
