Abstract

• The ACGME’s 3 stage model as a framework for pandemic residency program management can best be expanded to five stages. • In stage 4, increased clinical demands will require attention by the program director to monitor its impact on the program. • In stage 5, the program director must deal with additional challenges in the post-COVID environment.
