Abstract

In the long-wavelength limit, Γ(ψ′→γ+χJ)=const×(2J+1)pγ3 and Γ(χJ→γ+ψ)=const×pγ3. The corrections to these expressions of order pγmc (mc is the mass of the charmed quark) are calculated. These corrections are found to be proportional to 〈L→·S→〉χJ×κ, where 〈L→·S→〉χJ=1,−1,−2, for J=2,1,0, and κ is the anomalous magnetic moment of the quark. Angular distributions of photons in the decays ψ′→γχ and χ→γψ also are predicted; small but probably measurable deviations from the pure E1 limit are found.
