Abstract

Inclusive education has the challenge of promoting a respectable coexistence with difference. The inclusive educational centers foster a positive coexistence among all its members, through the full participation of all of them in the educational community, through collaborative and cooperative processes. School coexistence has usually been linked to the study of problems such as disruption, indiscipline or bullying, but nowadays there is a need to address it from a global school perspective. School coexistence is the process by which all members of the educational community learn to live with others. The objective of this study is to present PrInCE (Inclusive Program of School Coexistence) and describe how it proposes to structure work in school coexistence in schools to achieve: (1) that schools move towards inclusion through specific work in coexistence school, (2) that the cultures of the centers are articulated based on the perception of school coexistence as a fundamental tool of attention to the diversity of the students, and creation of inclusive educational communities, (3) that the work in coexistence school is considered as a work necessarily planned, systematic and evaluable. For all these reasons, the PrInCE program is based on an inclusive perspective, and the elements that define it as a program of school coexistence are presented.
