Abstract

Abstract—A quantitative study of the mineral composition of the Talnakh deposit ores and host rocks from two wells was carried out using polished sections. The values of several physicomechanical, magnetic, and electrical properties were determined. These data were used to calculate the contents of the main ore minerals and useful components in the studied samples as a function of their petrophysical properties, as well as to reveal the near ore petrophysical anomalies in the ore horizons exocontacts. Application of this research methodology will allow an increase in the efficiency of prospecting and appraisal works for the Norilsk type sulfide mineralization.
