Former journalist, public servant, parliamentarian and Governor-General Paul Hasluck is interviewed by his son Nicholas Hasluck about his life and work. Included are recollections by Paul Hasluck about John Curtin, who he first met in Perth in the 1920s, when Curtin was President of the WA District Council of the Australian Journalists' Association and Hasluck represented the cadet journalists on the Council. Hasluck also recalls Curtin's involvement with journalism courses at the University of Western Australia at this time and the role Curtin played in preparing WA's case for the Commonwealth Grants Commission in 1933-34.
