Abstract
This paper examines the conflicts at work in the governance of public transport in the Paris region from the origins of the omnibus to the current project of the Grand Paris Express. It proposes to question the links between the successive modalities of governance of mobility and the types of transport systems that are then developed. It identifies the succession of four periods, each of which presents its own logic based on a specific configuration of actors: the liberal, the local, the national and the global periods
