Abstract

In order to inquire on the legitimacy of the averaging procedure over the initial and final nucleus solutions, carried out in the QRPA calculations of the double beta decay processes, a new method is designed here. We deal with a single QRPA equation for the intermediate nucleus and show that the ββ 2ν decay rates can be evaluated without diagonalizing the QRPA matrix; it is enough to invert this matrix. Finally, the theoretical results are compared with the experimental data and a fair overall agreement is obtained.
