Abstract

Abstract : This ethnography, based on fieldwork in TI Serrinha, discusses as central theme kaingang women Odila Kysã, Andila Nivygsãnh and Angela Norfa, as well as the networks they formed. The village suffered, in the mid-1960, from total dispossession of its territory and the expulsion of the kaingang who lived there. This study analyses the role of these women in this context, considering their histories, their path and their families?, as well as alliances between women, kinship networks and the concern for kaingang nomination of the children and grandchildren and the nomination?s influence on a person's life. Finally, I highlight the political articulation of these women around the so-called "Ponto de Cultura Kanhgág Jãre", which is a public space where they exert leadership roles.
