Measurements of cytosolic free calcium in melanotrophs of Xenopus laevis. Indications that cAMP-dependent protein phosphorylation maintains the spontaneous activity of calcium channels responsible for cytosolic calcium pulsing but does not mediate the channel-closing effects of dopamine and other secretoinhibitory neurotransmitters.
