Abstract
Under 2000-talet började en ny livsåskådning växa fram när diskussionsforum som riktade sig till så kallade incels, personer i ofrivilligt celibat, började spridas över internet. I centrum för delandet av de misogyna åsikter som fenomenet präglas av står diskussionsforumen; vilka spelar en betydande roll för skapandet av gemenskap inom gruppen. I denna studie har det genomförts en kritisk diskursanalys som syftat till att besvara hur anslutningen till och gemenskapen inom forumen kan förstås utifrån ett, i huvudsak, subkulturteoretiskt perspektiv. Studiens resultat visade att incelkulturen innehåller flera av de delar som definierar en subkultur och därmed anses studiens viktigaste slutsats vara att subkulturteorin kan ses som en förklaringsmodell kopplat till uppkomsten och upprätthållandet av kulturen på forumen som studerats. Förklaringsmodellen har kriminologisk relevans och kan eventuellt bidra till en kunskapsbas kopplat till den här typen av miljöer. / During the 21th century, a new worldview started to take form when forums aimed towards people that live in involuntary celibate; incels, started to spread online. The forums centers around discussions where misogyny values are shared and where the men participating in them gain community and context in their celibate life. This study is a critical discourse analysis of two of those forums where we, using a subculture-theory approach, aimed to create an understanding of this growing phenomenon. The analysis showed that the forums and the individuals in them displayed several features in common with these criminological theories. Based on the result from the study the incel culture could be regarded as a subculture, which should provide a deeper understanding of these kind of environments and the culture itself.
