Abstract

Lipopolysaccharide binding protein and soluble CD14 are present in amniotic fluid, and concentrations of lipopolysaccharide binding protein are elevated in patients in labor with and without evidence of infection. Lipopolysaccharide binding protein and soluble CD14 may mediate intrauterine inflammatory responses at term.
