Abstract

We conclude that treatment with inhaled nitric oxide + pentoxifylline results in a synergistic protection from ischemia-reperfusion injury after non-heart-beating donor lung transplantation. This is likely the result of a dual action on the graft vasculature and neutrophil sequestration.
