Abstract

The article presents the state of information and computer science in the military unit, types of information present in the Polish Army and IT systems. Reference was made also to the management of information and communication as certain issues, despite the current organization of computers and information technology is only partially efficient and functional for its users. The article presents the military unit as an organization that has many complex tasks and objectives. Military unit in the light of information management is dependent on IT support, management and command, which constantly intertwine. As a result, information processes are more complex and extensive than in other organizations, governmental or non-profit. Units’ objectives are often complex and extensive. The person responsible for the management and leadership must have the information from multiple areas of the military unit which simultaneously trains soldiers, organizes own functioning, prepares the current activity, control and settlement. Information and computer science in the military unit is still developing, and only partially solve the problems of information among soldiers. Therefore, the military needs a system of governance that should focus on the problems of information and soldiers of the military unit.
