Abstract
Holderith et al. present a sensitive, quantitative immunolocalization method that allows the visualization of dozens of synaptic proteins in epoxy-resin-embedded ultrathin sections with a resolution of <40 nm. Their method is ideal for molecular characterization of individual synapses following in vitro paired recordings, two-photon [Ca2+] or glutamate-sensor (iGluSnFR) imaging.
