Abstract

"The population of Gypsies in Hungary, as arrived at by various estimates made over the past 100 years, has risen at a rate exceeding the increase of the population as a whole.... The rise in number and proportion arises from the high fertility rate--more than twice of the country in total." Aspects examined include age distribution, spatial distribution, employment and occupations, unemployment, income, and socioeconomic status. (EXCERPT)
