Abstract

Frailty represents a major public health challenge in ageing populations. In this study, frailty at death in people aged 50 years and above is measured and compared across France, Italy, Spain and the US using information from death certificates, demonstrating the value of this source of information as a cost-effective complement to existing studies in living populations.
