The author and poet Margaret Walker Alexander consults letters she had written to Richard Wright in preparation for writing his biography. Ms. Alexander had earlier donated the letters to the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, and was reading the letters there in Donald Gallup's office.
