Abstract

Abstract The X-band EPR of Mn 2+-doped in KCo x Mg 1− x F 3 single crystals has been studied at 70–400K. The resolved Mn 2+ spectra were recorded for x<0.5 and high temperatures. A narrowing of EPR linewidths is considered as an effect of the random modulation of the magnetic interactions between the Mn 2+ and Co 2+ ions due to the spin-lattice relaxation processes of the Co 2+ ions. The Co 2+ spin-lattice relaxation time τ host has been estimated in these perovskite crystals using a modified Mitsuma theory.
