Abstract

Summary Arsenic, Se, Sb, Bi, Pb, Sn, and Te are determined in coal and fly ash samples by hydride generation and atomic absorption spectrometry. The samples are prepared by acid dissolution in a Parr bomb. The overall precision is of the order of ±10% for 10–100 ng of the elements. Detection limits range from 0.2 ng for arsenic or antimony to 1.4 ng for lead.
