Abstract

Abstract Using infrared cameras, we measured spectral radiance emitted from a heated photonic-lattice at both mid- (MW) and long-infrared (LW) wavelengths. At a typical sample bias of V = 0.7 V , the MW and LW radiation-temperatures are found to have a large difference, Δ T ≈ 320 K. Additionally, the infrared image of lattice emission is non-uniform across the sample. In particular, the derived radiation-temperature is significantly higher than the sample’s average temperature at the center region of the sample, and is lower near the sample edges.
