Abstract

Publisher Summary This chapter describes several topologies compatible with a duality, the theorem of Mackey, and reflexivity. The chapter mentions a locally convex Hausdorrf space E. It is convenient to distinguish the topology originally given on E from other topologies that are applicable on E; for this reason, the chapter refers to it as the initial topology on E. The dual of E is denoted E', as usual. The chapter mentions that the topology of a locally convex Hausdorff space E is identical to the topology of uniform convergence on every equicontinuous subset of E'.
