Abstract

Abstract Methodology for quantifying aluminum binding to guinea pig stratum corneum using both an indirect and direct procedure is presented. The former involves morin fluorometric assay of the solution in which the tissues are soaked, while the latter consists of analyzing the tissue itself by means of flameless atomic absorption spectrophotometry. A correlation coefficient of 0.99 with a 95% confidence limit of 0.90 to 0.98 was obtained for the two methods using the same tissues.
