Abstract

Abstract The enthalpy of association and the association constant for isodesmic (indefinite) self-associating systems can be determined directly from calorimetric dilution data. A two-parameter minimization method is used. For N 6-dimethyladenosine the enthalpy of association and association constant were determined at 20.0 dgC:Δ H = −6.4 kcal/mol, K = 24 M −1. Comparisons with other procedures are discussed.
