Abstract

Abstract Specific heat measurements on the anhydrous manganese sulfate enable us to confirm the existence of second order phase transitions forseen by the theory of Sólyom. The entropy variation does not correspond to S = 5 2 and allows us to forecast other phenomena. Concerning the hydrated sulfate, results on specific heat are consistent with magnetic measurements.
