Abstract

Abstract In view of the importance of the proton mobility in determining the mutagenic behavior of goitrin, it was pertinent to investigate its behavior at different pH and H 0 values. In the present paper the basicity, the dependence of the structure form on the acidity of the medium, and the effect of solvent polarity on goitrin are described—all this strongly suggests the dipolar character of this heterocyclic compound.
