The purpose of this research is to study the changes in student’s level of achievement and visualization through visual-based website based on the authentic learning environment. Next the growth of students’ visualization level was identified, and a students’ level of achievement framework profile based on the pattern of visualization’s level growth which referred to the element in visual thinking continuum (visual thinking, visual learning and visual communication) was produced. This research is a quantitative design involving quantitative and qualitative data. Research instruments included pre and post achievement tests, stages of learning activities, a questionnaire on student’s perception towards visualization level, interviews, and website evaluation form. The evaluation on the effectiveness of visual-based website towards students’ performance and visualization levels are based on a pre-experimental research design, one group pretest-posttest design and single-group time series design, conducted in six weeks of lectures. Samples for the research were 29 students from teacher training first degree program in one of Malaysian public universities. The developed visual-based website involves nine learning activities based on three levels of visual thinking continuum in the authentic learning environment. In addition, the website integrates with the visual-based applications such as Xmind Pro, ConceptDraw MINDMAP 6.0, SmartDraw 2010, Paraben’s LAN Charter, SmartDraw 2012, Edraw Network Diagram 5.0, Microsoft Visio Profesional, Netcracker Simulation Design and Edraw Max 6.0 Network Diagram for students to produce visual learning materials such as generating a mind-map, authentic learning problem-solving diagram, and preparation of project presentation documents. The research data were analyzed by inferential and descriptive statistical analysis. Research findings through paired-sample t-test showed that there is a significant difference between scores of mean for the pre-test and post-test (p < 0.05). Further, through Mauchly’s Test in one-way repeated measures of ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) test, significant differences for the students’ visualization level of the three continuums concerned were found. Analysis of paired-sample t-test showed a significant difference between students’ perceptions towards the effect of visual-based website on their visualization levels before and after using the website. Profile of students’ performance based on the development pattern of visualization level revealed that all students have experienced positive growth in their level of visualization through authentic learning activities in an environment that was provided by visual-based website. Therefore it can be concluded that the visual-based website has helped to enhance the students’ performance and visualization levels.
