Abstract

Abstract Experiments were performed with 3T3 fibroblasts growing on glass and agarose. The results demonstrate that the cells with reduced motility on the less adhesive substrate have an increased generation time and a reduced labelling index. This may indicate that the cellular interactions which limit mitosis in dense populations are not necessarily collision dependent.
