Publisher Summary This chapter describes recent developments of soliton physics in low temperature condensed matter physics. The most important advance in the understanding of solitons recently been made in quasi one-dimensional systems, where a variety of theoretical works are available. A recent neutron scattering experiments have unveiled the existence of magnetic solitons in the quasi one-dimensional magnetic systems like CsCoCI, CsNiF, and TMMC. The quantum corrections to the classical theory account for some discrepancies between the classical theory and experiment. The topological soliton in polyacetylene, appears to correlate in a remarkable way magnetic and electronic properties of both undoped and doped polyacetylenes.
