Abstract

Abstract This case history reviews a gumma of the palate which destroyed the hard palate and continued as an active lesion at the time the patient sought dental treatment. Although chronic oral lesions of syphilis are uncommon, the dental examiner must be constantly aware of their presence, since acute forms of the disease may go undetected or be refractory to treatment.
