Abstract

Summary Attention is drawn to the apparently high incidence of active tuberculosis inimmigrant Indians in Southall. Analysis has suggested that more than half appear to have acquired the infection in this country. The fact that the majority are Sikhs from rural areas who may often be tuberculin negative on arrival affords a possible explanation. Suggestions for handling the problem are made.
