Abstract

Abstract We deposited the ferromagnetic films, nickel (Ni) or iron (Fe), on high- T C cuprate superconductor, YBa 2Cu 3O 6+ δ (YBCO) thin film, by rf magnetron sputtering technique, and investigated the effect of Ni- and Fe-deposition on the superconducting characteristics. From the results, we found that the zero-resistance transition temperature ( T C) and the critical current ( I C) of Ni/YBCO and Fe/YBCO samples decreased with increasing the thickness of ferromagnetic films in both cases of Ni and Fe. This indicates that it is possible to form a Josephson junction based on high- T C cuprate superconductors by simpler method.
