Abstract

Abstract A theory of pulse polarography and related chronaoamperometric and coulometric techniques is presented which takes into account the heterogeneous kinetics as well as the influence of the d.c. component of the response on the measured pulse response. The equations derived could be used for the predictions of responses for relatively short pulse duration but they are not limited to small amplitudes. For the case of the double potential step technique digital simulation methods are recommended if the times after each step are comparable. The treatment of a composite excitation signal with different time domains of its components is described.
