Abstract

This paper presents a methodology for the evaluation of workspace performance. The approach consists of a literature review on office building performance, stateof the art of existing indicator classifications and models, methods of systems analysis for problem solving and decision analysis, development of an indicator model, weighting of the indicators in user group interviews and a case study. The main results of this study are an indicator model, user group weights, results of a case study and a method for the selection of office buildings for different stakeholders. The results of weighting were obtained with Web-HIPRE decision support tool. The focus was on user needs but the interests of other relevant stakeholders were considered. The objective was to find out which properties of office buildings create value for different stakeholders. The methodology was applied to the case of office buildings used by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, in Espoo.
