Abstract

Falkenbergiella caespitosa and its alloparasite Aiolocolax pulchella, two species restricted up to now to the South African coasts, have been recorded in the grassy communities on sandy substrate in the coasts of Galicia (NW Spain). Both species are described, and the possible reference of the records of Lophosiphonia scopulorum (Harvey) Womersley (for the southern Atlantic coasts of Europe) to Falkenbergiella caespitosa is discussed.
