Abstract

Abstract The limits and conditions of manifestation of the various mechanisms of plastic and elastic deformation have been determined for PETP films on the basis of data on tensile stress and degrees of orientation. The activation energy and the entropy change during stretching of the films have been estimated. In the case of deformation under a time-temperature regime, when a structural transition of high-elastic deformation occurs, the PETP film may be regarded as a fluctuational network containing from five to seven chain units between the crosslinks.
