Abstract

This presentation starts with the great moments of the ebook's timeline, focusing on digital publishing and the new ways and waves of advertising and communication tools used by the publishing industry. Studies the relations between organizations, authors, editors and publishers and analyzes the bibliographic information in the semantic web. Describes the new communication tools of the publishing industry: email, microblogging (Twitter), book's pages on Facebook, digital publishers catalogs, booktrailers (Youtube), metadata, ePUB, and another bibliographic information tools (RILVI, ISBNdb); and also gives a short description of the "social" libraries (LibraryThing, Calibre, Shelfari), reference management software (Mendeley, Zotero, Connotea).
