Abstract

Abstract A mixture of acetic anhydride and dimethyl sulfoxide is a useful reagent for the oxidation of (arene)chromiumtricarbonyl alcohols without loss of the Cr(CO) 3 group. Yields are dependent on the nature of the starting alcohol.
