Abstract

Abstract A method is developed to solve the energy-dependent transport equation with anisotropic scattering, by the method of collision probabilities, m cartesian geometry. The program Minos has been written to produce the resulting collision probability matrices m a typical lattice cell. These are then inverted using other programs. The running time of the scheme is comparable with multigroup two-dimensional diffusion theory. Comparisons of the method with other theoretical techniques are reported.
