Abstract

Abstract {(C 8H 8)Dy[μ-OCH 2(CH 2) 2CHCH 2](THF)} 2 was prepared by the reaction of (C 8H 8)DyCl(THF) n with CH 2CH(CH 2) 2CH 2ONa in THF and characterized by spectroscopic, analytical and crystallographic methods. Its crystal structure shows that the complex is a dimer with a Dy 3+ coordinated to one C 8H 8 ligand, one THF and two bridging OCH 2(CH 2) 2CHCH 2 groups. The average DyC(C 8H 8 ring) distance is 2.593(6) Å. The DyO(THF) and average DyO(OR) distances are 2.431(4) and 2.260(8) Å, respectively.
