Record level- This series contains thirty images which show several different public buildings on the Hopi Indian Reservation at Keams Canyon. Three pictures portray the interior of the Hopi Indian Agency Administration Office. These photographs also depict Burton A. Ladd (Superintendent), Bessie Kavena (employee), and a man named only as Duke who is standing at the counter. One image shows a view of Keams Canyon from near the fork of the road to Holbrook and 1st Mesa. There are also photos of the locker room fire in the girl's dormitory at the Keams Canyon Boarding School. Miss Mary Chapella (assistant matron) and Miss Kirkham (girls' advisor) are shown assessing the damage. Additional images show the government housing quarters occupied by carpenter, Sam Shing [Shingoitewa]; several aerial views of Keams Canyon; Keams Canyon from North Rim; Keams Canyon Hospital; Keams Canyon dormitory buildings; the employees' club; and Keams Canyon School.
