The aim for this study was to gain a better understanding of how cyber-bullying presents itself among school students, and in what ways schools and school counselors are involved when it comes to working with the problem. The study was based upon semi-structured interviews with six school counselors from three primary schools in Sweden. The material was analyzed and put into the context of Hasenfelds theory of human service organizations. By doing this we were able to understand how schools operate regarding the problem with cyber-bullying. Even though the results cannot be generalized, they contribute to an understanding of how schools are addressing cyber-bullying. All of the interviewed counselors have encountered cases of cyber-bullying among their students. The study showed that although there are no specific guidelines or policies towards cyber-bullying, the counselors are working along the policy for equal treatment of students. The issue with cyber bulling is integrated into their already existing work against bullying.
